This guide walks you through how to access and save your backup codes for Google’s 2-Step Verification. These one-time codes allow you to log in to your Hope College account if you ever lose access to your phone or authentication device.
Keeping backup codes in a safe place ensures you can always access your account—even without your mobile device.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:

An active Hope College Google account.

2-Step Verification already set up on your account.

Access to your email or Google Account settings.
Instructions
1. Click on "Hope College" in the upper right side of your email
2. Click on Manage your Google Account
3. Click on Security
4. Click on 2-Step Verification
5. Click on Backup codes
6. Click on print or download codes to save all 6. You can also write them down.
Tips & Notes
Each code can be used once. If you use them all or misplace them, return to the same page to generate a new set.

Store your backup codes in a secure, offline location such as a locked drawer or password manager.

Do not share your backup codes with anyone.
