Welcome back! Here are a few reminders and tips before the first day of classes.

Tools & resources

  • Email your class through Moodle Announcements, which always reflects current drops and adds and keeps records of those emails in one place. The Hope app also allows you to email with a few extra steps.
  • Check your class or wait list to see who's enrolled or waiting to enroll.
  • Submit and track CIT requests in our Help Desk portal for faster service. You can reply directly to our emailed responses, or use the portal to interact with all related communications.

Action items

  1. Prep your Moodle course
    1. Make your Moodle course visible: go into your course, open Settings, set Course visibility to Show, and save to allow students to access your content.
    2. Enroll TAs and Content Creators. Professors and students are added to a course automatically through registration, but you can enroll your TAs manually as Content Creators and/or Graders.
  2. Check your classroom and submit a request for any additional needs. Every room has a computer, webcam, HDMI input, projector, and document camera.
  3. Set up a recovery email for your 1Hope account. This is required before you can use the new password reset feature (see below).

What's new

💡 New: reset your own 1Hope password! Once you set up a recovery email, you no longer need to contact CIT!
  • The 1Hope sign-in page has changed. Signing in at 1.hope.edu now uses the standard Google sign-in box instead of the old Hope-branded page.
  • Saved browser passwords may not carry over. If your browser had a password saved for 1.hope.edu, you may need to retrieve it before using it on the new sign-in page.
